Dangerous Night Along North Texas Roads

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – Tuesday night into Wednesday morning was a particularly dangerous time to be traveling along North Texas roads. Five separate crashes between 11:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. kept emergency crews busy, and left several individuals either dead, injured or behind bars.

First, a cement truck flipped over along Ledbetter Drive, near South Westmoreland Road in the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. The crash dumped a load of sand and concrete onto the roadway, and diesel fuel spilled out from the truck’s gas tanks. According to authorities, the driver — an off-duty firefighter — simply lost control of the truck while attempting to make a turn. The driver was not injured. The road was closed while a hazardous materials crew cleaned up the mess.

About 45 minutes later, a single-vehicle crash along C.F. Hawn Freeway, near Masters Drive, left two people dead. Police have not said what caused…
